Singapore Airlines Minor Policy

We think that everyone should be able to fly in a safe and fun way. No matter how old they are. With our Unaccompanied Minors handling service, we take care of our young passengers from check-in to arrival.

Unaccompanied minors are people between the ages of 5 and 18 who aren’t traveling with an adult (18 or older) on the same flight and in the same class. We can’t let your child travel alone if he or she is younger than 5 years old. This is for their safety. Passengers between the ages of 5 and 12 must use the Unaccompanied Minor Handling Service. Passengers between the ages of 12 and 18 can choose whether or not to use the service.

If you choose the Unaccompanied Minors Handling Service, you can only book tickets for your child by calling the Singapore Airlines office in your area. Due to safety rules, there are no seats in the row near the emergency exit.

What Information is Needed to Book a Flight for My Child?

Booking a flight for a child who is traveling alone is the same as booking a flight for yourself, with a few extra details. Just call + or a local SQ office and give them your child’s name, age, address, and the name and phone number of the parent or guardian who will be with your child at the airports where he or she is leaving and arriving.

You must also talk about any special needs your child might have, like when it comes to food. Singapore Airlines will order the meal for your child if he or she is less than 8 years old.
