Minimum Age for Unaccompanied Minor Flying

When flying inside the state of Hawaii –


    • Passengers older than 12 years old can travel unaccompanied.

    • Children between the ages of 5 and 11 must travel with a passenger who is at least 15 years old.

 International flight–


    • Passengers between the ages of 12 and 18 may travel unaccompanied. They might require a supplementary document.

    • Children between the ages of 5 and 11 are not permitted to travel internationally.

    • Passengers under the age of 12 are required to travel on the same aircraft and in the same cabin with an adult companion who is at least 18 years old.

Minor Id Requirements for Hawaiian Airlines

According to Hawaiian Airlines’ policy for unaccompanied minors, the parents must fill out the necessary forms and bring the following:


    • Form for unaccompanied minors

    • Parents consent form

    • Under the “Hawaiian Airlines ID for minor” clause, a child’s birth certificate or passport.

    • A copy of a valid photo ID from the government of the person who will pick up the child.

    • Name, phone number, and address of the parent who met the child where he or she was going.

Hawaiian Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Fee

According to Hawaiian Airlines’ minor travel policy, a single fee may be paid for up to two children aged 5 to 11 years old. The children must be traveling with their immediate family and on the same itinerary.

The parent or guardian dropping off the child must pay the Hawaiian Airlines minor travel fee at the time of check-in.

Hawaiian Airlines Unaccompanied Minors: Restrictions and Exemption

Certain travel restrictions may be imposed by Hawaiian Airlines’ unaccompanied minor policy, such as –


    • Unaccompanied minors are not permitted to travel on the flight, which may be diverted to another airport.

    • Furthermore, children are not permitted to travel alone on a flight that may be delayed.

    • Unless the request flight is the last flight of the day or the travel is on a flight operating out of Honolulu, the airline will not accept Hawaiian Airline unaccompanied minor service between 9:00 p.m. and 5:00 a.m.

    • Unaccompanied minors will not be accepted if the connection time is more than 2 hours or less than 1 hour, unless the requested flight is the last flight of the day.

    • The airline will not accept unaccompanied minors on flights with an overnight connection.

    • On codeshare or interline agreement flights, minor travel is not permitted.

    • Unaccompanied minors are not permitted to travel on the extra-comfort fare. In addition to the unaccompanied minor fee, they can only be booked in economy or first class.

Hawaiian Airlines Minor Travel – Departing and Picking Up the Child

Follow these steps when you send your kids on the Hawaiian to make sure they have a safe trip. Parents or guardians of a child must:

Drop Off: When you drop off your child, do the following:


    • Bring kids between 5 and 11 who don’t have an adult with them to the airport.

    • Fill out the form for unaccompanied minors.

    • Keep your child’s ID and other paperwork close by. Hawaiian Airlines’ policy for unaccompanied minors says that the documents must be correct.

    • Give the person’s name, address, and phone number who will meet the child at the destination airport.

    • Take the child to the boarding area and wait there until the plane leaves.

Pick Up – When you meet the child at the airport, keep the following in mind:


    • When you get to the airport where you’re going, pick up the child from the right place. You need a gate pass, which you can get by getting to the airport up to 90 minutes before the flight is set to leave.

    • Only the people listed on the paper will be able to meet the baby.

    • The person who picks up the child must have a valid photo ID from the government.
