If you are unsure if you might need to cancel your ticket and are unsure of how to get your refund, read this comprehensive article on Singapore Airlines’ cancellation and refund policy to make it easier for you to do so.

About Singapore Airlines Cancellations Policy

Your ticket is covered by the travel waiver policy if it was issued by Singapore Airlines or Silk Air on/before March 15 and has a travel date between January 24 and March 31. You can choose to convert your ticket into a flight credit or seek a penalty-free refund.

Option 1:

Create a Flight Credit out of the unused portion of your ticket.

  • If you used cash or a debit/credit card to pay, you’ll receive a travel bonus between SGD 75 and 500.
  • If you used KrisFlyer Miles to pay for all or part of your ticket:

    • Redepositing your Miles into your account is free of charge.
    • If you used a combination of cash, debit, credit card, and Kris Flyer Miles to pay, the refund will be given back to the original payment methods.
    • If your miles expired on or before May, they will be valid until June 30th if you get a refund.
    • You won’t get bonus flight credits. If you only used part of your ticket, you will only get a refund for the part of the ticket that you didn’t use.

  • If you paid for a seat, extra baggage, or a Stopover Holiday package, you will get a refund for the amount you paid. The refund will go back to the same way you originally paid.

Option 2:

Request a refund.

  • If you purchased your ticket from Singapore Airlines or SilkAir directly, you must complete the Covid-19 Assistance Request Form and submit your refund request after selecting Cancel my booking for a refund. Select the Other Covid-19-related assistance option if you wish to request a refund for specific passengers.
  • After submitting the refund request, an acknowledgment request will be sent to you.
  • There will be no cancellation fee levied.
  • You will be notified and your original method of payment will be refunded. The refund could take up to six weeks to appear in your account.
  • If your ticket was purchased through a travel agent, you must contact them directly. Depending on your travel agent’s terms and conditions, you may be charged a cancellation/refund fee.

If you bought a Singapore Airlines ticket after March 15 and your travel date is on or before March 31, your ticket is not covered by the travel waiver policy. However, there may be other options available to you.

  • You can change your travel date as many times as you want without any additional charges.
  • If you want to cancel your ticket, you need to check its fare conditions first.

    • If you have a refundable fare, you can get your money back.
