For your child, going somewhere alone can be both scary and exciting. Because of this, the Qantas Unaccompanied Minor service gives kids who are traveling alone things like separate lounges while they are in transit at the Melbourne, Canberra, Victoria, Sydney, Perth, and Brisbane Airports.
It also gives you the choice of having Qantas Customer Service Agents walk your child through Immigration and Customs on international flights.
This service is offered on some connecting Qantas flights, and domestic flights can be booked online. Depending on where they are going, unaccompanied minors will have to pay a fee of either $75 USD for domestic flights or $100 USD for international flights.
This is to pay for some of the extra services and facilities that unaccompanied minors need to have a pleasant and enjoyable flight. Children who are traveling with a parent, guardian, or sibling who is 15 or older are not required to use these extra services and facilities.
